My 2000 Corvette had a check engine light along with smoking and knocking noises. I knew it was not good. John Overly checked out the issue and attempted to resolve with the lowest cost option. Unfortunately, that did not remedy the situation. The initial work was completed at the quoted amount and an estimate was provided for the remainder of the work. The repairs were expensive but reasonable for the amount of work. The communication and estimated time for repairs were above and beyond my expectations. I would highly recommend this business! I love John Overly Automotive. They have helped me with so many emergencies as well as scheduled repairs. They were originally recommended by a tow truck driver about 7 years ago who said he had been impressed with their service and had started using them personally. Most recently, my vehicle was overheating so I rushed it in for emergency repair. They were very busy and had to keep it overnight, but told me that immediately. Early the next afternoon, John Overly called to tell me my vehicle was ready and there was absolutely no charge because they had replaced the same part about 2 years ago. They give a 36 month parts AND LABOR guarantee. I would not have realized it was under warranty unless he told me! I tried to get him to take something for their time, but he refused. Highly Recommend Overly! Very professional service. I was getting ready to leave a customers home when my van wouldn't start. Called a friend of mine who tried to help me with it but he and his father told me they knew people who had used and had heard good things about Overly Automotive and to give them a call. I contacted them and explained the issue and was told it could take several days as they were very busy. I told them I understood but whatever they could do to check it out and get it back to me would be most appreciated. They diagnosed the issue which was the security system on the van and got it back to me within 24 hours. I also contacted John a little while back as I've been looking to purchase another van and he was happy to give me advice about the older style cargo vans compared to the newer European style vans. I'm going to be getting another van shortly and will be in touch to see about regular maintenance for it. Very much appreciated the support I received at Overly.

Have been taking all my families vehicles to this shop since I moved to town over 10 years ago. Always prompt service, even on bigger service work. John and Nick have helped us keep our cars in good running order, even when we were on tight budgets some years. They won't try to sell you parts/services you don't need, like so many shops! (For example, took my spare vehicle if for four new tires and they called me to recommend I only get two, as the other two still had over 10,000 miles life left!) Have taken several used vehicles here for prepurchase inspections, too, so we would know what we would be facing. They pointed out some expensive issues, that we would have been stuck with otherwise. Gave us complete information to make the smartest buying and negotiating decision for our daughters first car!

Overley Automotive has always given us dependable, reliable, and expert service on our vehicles. I have been to some other repair shops that overcharged and have sold me parts or services I may not have needed. I can speak from experience that Overley does not. One example: On one occasion, my wife went in to pick up our car after getting some routine maintenance done, one item of which was a set of new tires. She noticed the bill was quite a bit less than we had planned for. They told her it was because the two rear tires still had plenty of wear left on them, so they rotated those rear tires to the front and put only 2 new tires on the back. They could have easily given us what we asked and expected to pay for, but they chose to be honest and save us some unnecessary expense. I take all my 4-wheel vehicles to Overley Automotive.

I have had John Overley for years and he is the best mechanic that I could ask for. I decided to get me another car and give my old car to my son and so he is taking the car to John Overley's Shop and have things that just wear out over time fixed. I bought the car in 2004 New and has served me well for 14 years and some of the original parts need to be replaced. John knows the history of the car and once all the things get a face lift, my son should have a like new car. I also had John inspect and check the cars I test drove and he gave me advice on the over all best car for me. I just can't say enough good about his shop and his mechanics know a lot of things about all cars. John also has club booklet for oil changes and different services offered at a discount. If you decide to go to him ask about the booklet. He will be taking care of me with my 2017 car in the future too. John was in the AAA magazine of being one of the top mechanics in Louisville Kentucky, and also on Angie's list.

The infamous "check engine light" came on. Took it to Overleys' as dealerships don't like working on older cars. The staff got my car scheduled in, & even gave me a ride home. At the time I had no one available to pick me up Repairs were completed the next afternoon. Picked it up, running much better than before. Next day the light came on again. Took it back, informing about miles driven and filling gas tank. Mechanic worked it right in, checking all the systems and electronics. It was reading in ranges as normal - but light kept coming on. Turns out it was the brand of gasoline used. Too much ethanol in it for an older car. Gas "dryer" added. Codes reset. Running out old gas & advised to use a name brand fuel with treatment additives and "dryer" each tank. Problem should be solved. Very satisfying to find crew that will work to find the problem & a solution. Definitely will return for future needs to keep a 20 year old car running. Thanks to a friendly and solution solving staff with a grest business ethic.

This was on a Saturday morning, I was there for a short visit and needed to head back home on Tuesday. John Overly provided prompt, courteous and professional service. My car was repaired and ready for pick up that same day. My daughter was so impressed with their service that she will now be using them when she needs automotive care. It's nice to know that there are still decent and honest folks in the business, under the circumstances, it would have been easy to take advantage of my situation and "trump" up the repairs. That wasn't the case, John Overly pinpointed the problem and promptly took care of it for me. I will definitely use them again, should the need arise while I am visiting my daughter in the future.

I have been to many shops around Louisville over the years (I keep my cars until I see pieces of them in the rear view mirror) I found Overley Automotive through a friend and I have been with them since. They are honest and explain things in terms that I understand. It is nice to know that I will always have a shop that I trust to take care of my cars.I don't worry so much about buying used cars now I will even keep them a little longer. Big thanks to these guys! No other shop would even look at my Jeep with a seatbelt/airbag light on. Everyone said the dealer has to diagnose and repair... they got it in and out in 24 hours with 1 seatbelt sensor later it is good as new!
